We have just completed our last board meeting of 2011; and I'm proud of all that the board has accomplished this year. My President's Message in the December issue of
Computer details most of those accomplishments, together with the names of the board members who did a great job making it all happen. It's also worth noting that this month the board 1) passed a Technical Committee revitalization program which has already started, and 2) decided to terminate the CS's membership in IFIP.
Both before and after the Board meetings, I had the privilege of attending two of our most exciting sponsored conferences:
ICCV 2011 in Barcelona (http://www.iccv2011.org/) and SC2011 in Seattle. If you want to know more about these, contact me directly, or read about SC2011 at http://www.eetimes.com/electronics-news/4230751/Highlights-from-Supercomputing-11.
And finally, we are continuing to meet with senior ACM volunteers and staff to explore ways in which we can expeditiously bring more benefits to all our members and to the computing community. We'll have more to report next year.
