The IEEE P1062 Working Group - RP for Software Acquisition, chaired by Marcus Hervey, welcomes your visit.  The Recommended Practice for Software Acquisition, IEEE P1062^TM, describes a set of useful quality considerations that can be selected and applied during one or more steps in a software acquisition process. The IEEE P1062^TM Working Group will identify and document current software acquisition processes and provide better guidance on certain relevant topics, such as security in software acquisition.

Your involvement and participation in the P1062 Working Group is appreciated!   We are interested in your ideas and contributions.   We are looking for volunteers with technical, legal, and business expertise, but also welcome those with a passion for finding common ground between suppliers and consumers. Some of the areas related to software acquisition in which we need experienced contributors include:

• Department of Defense

• Medical
• Nuclear
• Oil & Gas

• Meetings

Meetings are planned to occur monthly.  Interested parties are invited to attend. IEEE membership is not required. Much of our work will be accomplished by individuals working in locations scattered around the world. Direct email, the group email reflector, and conference calls will all be employed.
