CSAB to Hold Workshop on Accreditation

LOS ALAMITOS, Calif., 8 August, 2007 -- The Computing Sciences Accreditation Board will hold a workshop on 5 October to familiarize individuals from the academic, business and government sectors with the latest criteria and accreditation processes required for the accreditation of computer science, information systems and information technology programs offered by the Computing Accreditation Commission.

The workshop will be held at the Marriott Tampa Westshore, 1001 N Westshore Blvd., Tampa. The cost is $350.The CSAB will provide training materials, continental breakfast, lunch, and refreshment breaks.

Areas to be addressed by industry experts at the conference will include the following: various program management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) topics; Writing Good Requirements; Project Estimation; Risk Management; Software Testing; Quality Assurance; CMMI, Lessons Learned from implementing the Agile Methodology; Metrics, How to Successfully Implement Test Automation; Project Estimation; using Open Source Framework for Performance Benchmarking; Security Testing, and Establishing a Global Operations Center.

There will also be keynote addresses by Joe Jarzombek of Homeland Security who is the Director of Software Assurance – Cyber Security Division on " The Role of Software Assurance in the Workplace" and Tom Ticknor, who is the Chief Operating Officer of the Quality Assurance Institute on "Understanding Software Forensic Analysis".

As we all know cost, schedule and quality are key drivers for any project, but assuring we built the right product is paramount to a successful project. This conference will provide valuable insight from industry experts on how to effectively manage challenges with IT projects as well as providing 16 Continuing Professional Educational (CPE) credits needed to maintain industry certifications.
