IEEE Security & Privacy Exhibits at InfoSec World 2006

LOS ALAMITOS, Calif., 21 April 2006 — The IEEE Computer Society promoted IEEE Security & Privacy at InfoSec World in Orlando recently to raise awareness for the IEEE Computer Society’s well-regarded technical magazines.

Computer Society staff and volunteers are appearing at a selection of high-profile computer security and software development conferences over the next two years. In many cases, the magazine staffs are combining booth appearances with panel sessions of highly regarded volunteer editors addressing topics of interest.

In its 13th year, InfoSec World has become a leading event for information security. Information security professionals, industry experts, and product vendors attend InfoSec World to explore critical real-world strategies and cutting-edge techniques necessary to secure critical data, reduce risk, and strengthen systems. Featured this year were open-source security tools, MS Windows protection strategies, deception technologies, and techniques to demystify wireless hacking techniques,

Featured was a panel session on “Overcoming Hacker Hi-Jinx and Other Bad Behaviors,” which featured IEEE Security Privacy editorial board member Gary McGraw (Cigital CTO). Also appearing at the conference were keynote speakers Tom Ridge (former Secretary of Homeland Security), Peter Bergen, Kevin Ashton (MIT), and Jeff Jonas, (IBM Entity Analytics).
