[Conference News] Frameworks Evaluated for Prioritizing Software Requirements

For systems with hundreds of requirements, simple prioritization techniques such as a 1–10 scale can’t guarantee value-centric results. Researchers from the University of Southern California’s Center for Systems and Software Engineering and Infosys Technologies’ Infosys Labs in India conducted a case study of existing frameworks for evaluating 17 requirement categories.

"Selecting an Appropriate Framework for Value-Based Requirements Prioritization," a paper presented at the 2012 20th IEEE International Requirements Engineering Conference (RE), describes the study and recommendations based on its results.

Papers from RE 2012 are available to IEEE Computer Society members and paid subscribers via the Computer Society Digital Library.
