In this paper, a layered model based on objects for distributed videoconferencing system is developed. The object-orientation of various components consisting of the system and the semantic relations among multimedia are specified also. In this model, the object-orientation decomposes the multimedia data streams into a set of objects on I/O level, processing level and network transport level, with different objects handled in parallel. So, it is easier to implement the model by using a "data-flow programming" style. In the end of the paper, features of this model are analyzed and techniques used in system implementation are presented in brief.
