This paper describes a novel immune algorithm(IA) for data mining, the goal of the novel algorithm is to extract classification rules from data in database. This algorithm is inspired by the theory of immunity in biology which mainly constructs an immune operator accomplished by two steps: 1) a vaccination and 2) an immune selection. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of immune algorithm on three UCI benchmark data sets.
