The discrete particle swarm optimization (DPSO) has many merits, for example simple, rapid convergence speed. This paper proposes an approach for web services composition based on Quality of Service (QoS) and DPSO. In the case of lots of web services, this approach has an obvious effect. The simulation results comparing with genetic algorithms (GAs) show that it can produce better results.
