Digital broadcasting and storage television combining broadcasting and computer technologies are changing the way we watch television. We propose a new way of enhancing information access obtained from nextgeneration storage television. We can suspend TVwatching to access the Web to browse additional information. This additional information is retrieved automatically based on a complementary information retrieval method. When we have finished browsing, we can return to the point at which we paused and continue watching TV. We also present some results obtained by evaluating our method.
