Currently a large numbers of Web Services as well asother kinds of services such as EJBs, COM, and evenJava Classes are published both externally and internallyto an organization. Enabling SOA based systemdevelopment by leveraging such kinds of servicesbecomes a challenge. A semantically enhanced servicerepository which includes a service registry and asemantic service repository is put forward in this paper.The service registry manages the Web services, EJBs, andJava Classes by facilitating service registration,publishing, versioning, and monitoring. The details of theservice model used in the registry are analyzed. Then thesemantic service repository encapsulating the serviceswith OWL-S is proposed. Later the ontology-basedservice discovery and matching method are introduced.The repository proposed in this paper can be used tomanage the services and facilitate the service orientedapplication system development and integration.
