Managing sensors, actuators and devices for supporting context-aware applications poses great challenges, such as the efficient coordination and cooperation among them, their self-configuration, as well as the management of their interactions. This papers aims at creating a middleware platform for the provision of the following functionalities: Configurability, Adaptability, Heterogeneity and Interoperability (CAHI). The capabilities of this middleware platform are assessed by means of a smart-home scenario populated by different sensors, actuators and devices.
