Adaptive security is based on the observation that the se- curity requirements of a system or service heavily depend on the environment in which they operate and should therefore be dynamically adjusted to best operate within that envi- ronment as the environment changes. In this paper we are concerned with adapting the choice of cryptographic algo- rithms applied to client-server interactions. To that end, we design and implement an adaptation controller for SSL (Se- cure Socket Layer), called Adaptive SSL.
