Dynamic Topology Reconfiguration Method for Service Overlay Networks Using Users' Community Information

In this paper, we propose an efficient dynamic topology reconfiguration method for a service overlay network called ACBP (Approximate Cluster-Based Policy), which does not require detailed information on future traffic requirements.Instead of the detailed information on future traffic requirements, ACBP utilizes community information of a social network among users for roughly estimating traffic requirements among users. In this paper, we also evaluate the effectiveness of our ACBP through simulations. Consequently, we show that the total cost of ACBP, which does not use the detailed information on traffic requirements, is only approximately 10% larger than that of existing method CBP (Cluster-Based Policy), which requires the detailed traffic information.
