This paper proposes a personal file storage system named Simple Shared Storage (SSS) based on the pure P2P model. The participant nodes of SSS contribute their storage space to SSS and they can store their files in SSS. SSS maintains the number of the replicas of a file within the pre-defined range and ensures availability of the stored files. It also realizes fairness among nodes by the rule that the available storage size for a node is proportional to the contributed storage size by the node. Replica control and fairness are realized by simple protocols without a trusted third party. SSS was implemented in Java. The measurement results showed that SSS recovers froma condition in which 80% of replicas has been lost within only 1 minute with keeping fairness.
