12th International Workshop on Research Issues in Data Engineering: Engineering E-Commerce/E-Business Systems (RIDE'02)
Modeling and Executing Semantic B2B Integration
San Jose, California
February 24-February 25
ISBN: 0-7695-1480-4
Christoph Bussler, Oracle Corporation
Trying to achieve B2B integration by programming does not scale due to the high number of combinations of B2B protocols like EDI or RosettaNet, business proc-esses, document formats, back end applications and trading partners. Furthermore, programming does not provide the necessary flexibility, reliability, and consis-tency. Instead, a set of B2B integration modeling con-structs is proposed in this paper that allow to model B2B integration dynamically: B2B protocol, application pro-tocol, workflow types, transformation, binding, trading partner and business event.
Index Terms:
B2B Integration, B2B Protocol, Transformation, Inter-enterprise integration, Inter-enterprise workflow
