Networked and mobile entertainment requires an R&D agenda that has importance for both the entertainment and serious games industries. In this presentation, we will discuss that research agenda including infrastructure, network and mobile games; cognition and games, MMOG analysis and interaction; immersion, novel input devices and emotion-cognizant games; and design, non-traditional IP directions and game-based education. We will end the talk by showing some of the latest work addressing this agenda from the USC GamePipe Laboratory.
