The increasing complexity of software distribution systems, has led two issues of concern for those dealing with management needs in smart living environments. The first is the challenge of integrating basic functions of software distribution with specific domain needs. The second is the difficulty of integrating systems across platform boundaries. This paper proposes a Software Distribution Management System (SDMS), which is essentially a service-oriented mechanism to support distribution process changes when needed. In addition, this study uses a Service-Oriented Software Engineering (SOSE) development methodology for designing and building of a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) SDMS. Finally, the service identification result and monitoring methodology of the SDMS has also presented in this paper.
