Digital forensics examiners face several challenges outside the technical aspects of collection, investigation, and storage of digital information. Both the court's rules regarding evidence admissibility and the licensing requirements for forensics professionals must be taken into account for each phase of the digital investigation process. This article presents an overview of the current Federal Rules of Evidence as well as the digital forensics licensing requirements in place for each state. 1.
