The maturation of modern software engineering ideas follows an incremental, threaded, and reversive process with distinct states. Five levers underlie these states: unbiased reflection, neat bundling, effective branding, easy sandboxing, and optimal extraction. The five levers help a worthwhile idea move more quickly toward acceptance and adoption without surrendering to reversion.
