Software Product Families in Europe: The Esaps & Café Projects July/August 2002 (vol. 19 no. 4) pp. 41-49
European companies have been involved in cooperative product family development projects, funded by the European Union and by local governments, for the past seven years. The projects have grown from small EU-funded projects with a few partners to large-scale projects funded within the ITEA framework by national governments. The author gives an overview of the relationship between the different projects, the topics each has addressed, and the main results obtained thus far.
