Thin clients, once heralded as an alternative to PCs, promised lower maintenance costs, higher productivity, and improved security. However, the thin client still remains a niche market. Some industry insiders, however, believe thin clients will still have a major impact on emerging markets, especially in developing areas such as India and China.
