The Cloak of Invisibility: Challenges and Applications October-December 2002 (vol. 1 no. 4) pp. 62-70
The authors discuss the potential algorithmic and technological challenges involved in the sensor-based manufacturing of a cloak of invisibility--a flexible artifact that can make anything inside it invisible and preserve invisibility despite mobility and deformation. Starting from this application and related challenges, the authors introduce and discuss other related applications.
