What are the technical requirements for such devices?
What do we need to know about the nature of contact expressions?

The author takes a brief look at these issues in terms of their current status and the work that still needs to occur. A focus on the technical development of sensor-motor systems, tactile interfaces, and technologies that can embody and understand affect.
