The Grid offers a platform for national ITS architectures that can bridge the gaps between local services and subsystems. DartGrid II is a semantic ITS platform based on grid technology. A prototype system deployed in China's Yangtze River Delta allows five metropolises to share ITS information and cooperate across a wide range of services and resources.
