Gaming Technology Helps Troops Learn Language

DARPA's Tactical Language Project aims to help soldiers in Arabic-speaking countries learn the language quickly using a game-based program that incorporates speech recognition technology. The program targets more practical speaking skills combined with an understanding of cultural cues and appropriate nonverbal behaviors.
