Practical implementations of Semantic Web technologies must consider aspects such as scalability and reliability to be attractive for industrial practitioners. A new portal infrastructure benefits from both the access facilities provided by Semantic Web technologies and the applicability of current Web technologies for industrial-strength applications. An up-and-running network of content-interchanging portals showcases this infrastructure. Accompanying tools and methods let users set up such networks from scratch or place them atop existing information sources.
