The Web 2.0 world abounds with solutions for developing Web-based rich Internet applications (RIAs). Desktop application developers have seen a similar maturation of full-featured frameworks to help simplify development. Mozilla's XULRunner application runtime engine offers a compromise between Web-based RIAs and a desktop application's power.
