In this paper an intra-class utility-fair bandwidth adaptation scheme for multi-class traffic in wireless networks is proposed. Each call is assigned a utility function according to its traffic class. When the network is overloaded the allocated bandwidth of ongoing calls is degraded dynamically to meet two objectives in the preference order: (1) all calls within the same class receive fair utilities (2) the utility sum of all traffic classes in each individual cell of the network is maximized. Simulation results have demonstrated the superior performance of our scheme.
