The purpose of this paper is to explore the fundamentals of Six Sigma and its use in education. Six Sigma is a set of methodologies used by businesses to achieve extremely low failure rates in any process. Similarly it can be used to achieve overall excellence in the field of education. Six Sigma is a unified approach to process excellence. The strategy that has to be applied in today's educational arena is improving the overall performance of the students. This paper is in two parts. We first outline what is Six Sigma and then we propose how Six Sigma can be applied in educational field to participate in today's competitive world. The clients are the students and the quality of learning they achieve is the service. We can also say that student is the ?product?, which the education institutions ?sell? to the future employer.
