Enterprise E-Business Transformation: A Case Study in China

In the light of the interest conflicts among the upstream and downstream enterprises of China's household appliance supply-and-demand chain, the paper puts forward, through the theoretical analysis as well as in connection with an case study of SanLian Group, that chain retail enterprises of household appliance should carry out the E-business transformation from the following four key dimensions, namely, business strategy, organizational structure, business process and the interfirm relationship, and set up the cooperative and win-win situations of household appliance supply-and-demand chain in terms of the upstream and downstream enterprises. The study has demonstrated that E-business is not merely a kind of technology, but a kind of business model which signifies the transformation of enterprises management. Only in this way that the enterprises effectively integrate the IT, the whole business process and organizational structure can they bring about IT commercial value. The information system, the adoption and absorption of interorganizational information system in particular, is not only a weapon for enterprise competition, but also the enabler among the cooperation of enterprises.
