For aluminum powder nitrogen atomization process, there exists large temperature fluctuates for melted aluminum in atomization furnace, which is not accepted by successive production. Atomization furnace is a nonlinear, large delay and uncertain system, and conventional PID controller cannot control the temperature well. In this paper, a Fuzzy-PID hybrid controller is presented to control the temperature of the melted aluminum. The advantages of both fuzzy controller and PID controller are integrated in the Fuzzy-PID hybrid controller, and the hybrid controller is applied on two similar atomization furnaces. The comparison is carried out by means of figuring to illustrate effectiveness of the Fuzzy-PID hybrid controller. With utilizing of the hybrid controller, the effect of atomization and the yield of aluminum powder up to grade are promoted, and considerable economy benefit is brought to the enterprise.
