The paper summarizes a specification for a standard protocol for multi-vender building automation systems. Based on the ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 135-1995, the specification extends the functionality of the BACnet protocol in order to realize an autonomous, decentralized BAS(Building Automation System). By following this specification, a building automation constructor could construct a multi-vender-type BAS with more eficincy than using a conventional BAS, and with a significant savings.
