Moving objects continuously generate large amounts of spatio-temporal information. A spatiotemporal pattern (STP) query specifies a spatiotemporal pattern as a sequence of distinct spatial predicates where the temporal ordering of predicates matters. STP is a new type of query with many applications in the field of moving object database management. In this paper, our focus is to process historical STP query effectively based on appropriate index techniques. We propose three different methods to deal with STP query. Effective trajectory splitting model is used to index the historical trajectories of moving objects. Finally, we conduct a comprehensive experimental evaluation to show the efficiency of our techniques.
