The role and nature of Personal Information Management (PIM) have changed in recent years to now encompass many different kinds of data. Semantic Web technologies offer promise as a unifying representation framework for new PIM applications. Pros and cons of these technologies are discussed. Mobile devices, in turn, offer features that further enhance the PIM experience. Examples of applying Semantic Web technologies to various issues in PIM systems are discussed, with emphasis on making these technologies available on mobile devices.
