Today?s dynamic business world is dominated by many mergers and acquisitions (M&A) that, along with the business benefits, can carry an impact on the IP network of the combined organizations. M&A can lead to IP networks that are more expensive to operate and are technically more fragile due to address exhaustion or overlapping address space. In some cases costly and time consuming readdressing is required and in other cases NAT (Network Address Translation) overlap, with all its management implications, is used to stitch them together. This paper analyzes IPv6 solutions that can provide complete access between all sites - including recently added sites that have been acquired via M&A. The solutions analyzed in this paper provide ready access to applications residing across the entire enterprise, even when NAT overlap exists in different parts of the network.
