The line-based face recognition method is distinguished by its features, but its development and application is limited to some inherent drawbacks. This paper propose a method for decreasing the influence under variable illumination intensity by using the line-based singular value (LSV) feature vector instead of image gray-level value to calculate "distance" between two lines. We prove that our method is invariant to the illumination intensity. Finally, we suggest a distributed computing algorithm using grid computing to solve the multi-scale computation. Experimental results show our approach is effective.
