This paper proposes a general solution to an Affective Intelligent Tutoring System. According to artificial psychology theory, it maps the student?s emotional state by means of data gathered from the student?s self-assessment based on an emotion map. Then a two-dimensional emotional psychology model and a reaction strategy model adopting multi-tier reasoning rules are constructed to detect, analyze and evaluate the student?s emotional state. This considers not only the state of the student?s knowledge but also his cognitive and emotional state, so that a more intelligent teaching process can be devised, with an emphasis upon interactive"man-to-man" instruction.
