We describe a software tool MCS (multicast simulation) that we developed to evaluate routing protocols. MCS is based on several innovative ideas and provides a very user-friendly, flexible, and dynamically configurable GUI. We present results of applying MCS to the PIM (Protocol Independent Multicast) routing protocol.
