CSCL practice and dissemination are problematic due to the lack of technical and pedagogical expertise, concrete training, and support for teachers. This paper describes a technological approach for making CSCL practice and adoption easier. A powerful workflowenabled CSCW web platform hosts virtual communities for designing, executing and tutoring CSCL sessions, analyzing their results, and debating all technical and pedagogical issues. The paper defines the platform requirements and describes a prototype of J2EE-based implementation through a typical usage scenario.
