This study attempts to illuminate employee Internet abuse through analysis of a company?s firewall log file. The difficulty of determining whether a given instance of web browsing constitutes "abuse" is addressed. Visits to web sites subjectively labeled "inappropriate" were found at varying levels, ranging from incidental to excessive.
