Research issues on information technology standards are getting more attention recently. It is observed that limited research effort has been devoted to adoption of process standard for instance software maintenance process. This study aims to identify the salient factors for maintenance process standard(s) adoption in enterprise resource planning (ERP) packaged software environment. To achieve this, a survey is conducted with the ERP-client organizations. The result from the principle component analysis shows that ERP-client?s satisfaction with the maintenance tool and system provided by the vendor for supporting maintenance activities plays a role in maintenance standard adoption. Also, the ERP-client?s top management acceptance for best practices in software maintenance is another salient factor.
