Recently, the field of eGovernment has developed to a comprehensive and renown topic. A vast number of definitions has emerged and distinct aspects shaping the topic have arisen from different disciplines. Also the field of implementation has grown tremendously: many projects exist, which relate to each other, or even overlap. The community is in urgent need for an instrument to structure the field in terms of research and implementation. EIP.AT is a project at the University of Linz, Austria, that addresses these problems and tries to solve them via semantic modelling and the provision of a portal to access this knowledge. The semantic net spans a knowledge base of eGovernment with the various facettes of the topic and the distinct projects existing across Austria on eGovernment.
