Coordination based systems stemming from the seminal work of David Gelernter and the Linda language have offered simple but rich mechanisms for the creation of dynamically distributed applications. In this paper we examine the uses of coordination-based middleware in a heterogeneous P2P environment. We investigate an architecture for decoupling the client server model prevalent in all of today's implementations of Linda Spaces to make them applicable in P2P systems. Tentative suggestions of how this approach can be used in the real world application domain of telecoms management are illustrated and empirical results of our framework performance are presented and discussed.
