6th IEEE Workshop on Future Trends of Distributed Computing Systems (FTDCS '97) Extended connection models for advanced applications Tunis, TUNISIA October 29-October 31 ISBN: 0-8186-8153-5
We define a model that extends the notion of session in an OSI-like architecture in order to provide a system that can cope with the requirements of sophisticated applications such as hypermedia, and the Internet. This model allows the existence of hierarchy and inter-dependency relationships among sessions, authorises multiple connections to a remote node, and introduces nesting and flexibility among sessions.
