Being a fast-growing Internet application, streaming media application shares the network resources with the regular Internet traffic, and is susceptible to the existing security holes of the Internet, such as SETUP Request Flooding Attack, Session Hijacking Attack, TEARDOWN Attack and RTP Attack. In this paper, we propose a highly needed Streaming media intrusion detection system. Our approach is novel in that, it bases on state transmission analyzing and session management in application layer. In addition, the performance of this new model is quantitatively evaluated. The result show the promising method works well, specially characterized by fairly short delay of intrusion detection
