Experiment is important for science education. Sometime it is hard to do real experiment because of the limitation of time, space and expense etc.. Virtual experiment system is a computer-based 3D virtual environment which allows users to explore as in a real world and carry out experiments effectively. As supplements to real experiments, virtual experiments have attracted great interests of experts in science education. This paper introduces the procedure model and hierarchical analysis of designing a virtual experiment system. Some key implementation technologies are also introduced.
