Word spotting is the recognition of particular key words during a spoken dialog. This article will show why and how word spotting in Scrum meetings can be used. Motivation, aims, and advantages as well as the word spotting procedure and possible challenges are presented. During a meeting a lot of information is exchanged. It is an established practice to write a report/ meeting minutes subsequent to the end of a meeting, containing the most important information, decisions, action items, etc. Here, an automatic approach for word spotting comes into play to generate reports and (action item) lists automatically. This approach is time saving, relief of an annoying task, and a first step to an automatic, company-wide reporting mechanism and knowledge management approach. A first approach for this particular procedure will be presented in the following article.
