In the context of a Web-based organization, the paper proposes and motivates a conceptual and functional framework for the modeling, integration and execution of web service-oriented processes driven by ontologies (as common vocabularies between service providers and with the service requestors) and by ontology-based templates for activities, services and requests. The framework relies on the explicit semantic correlation between the mandatory conceptual signature of the activities that compose the processes and the semantics of the services discovered to execute them or of the requests submitted for their execution.
