This paper presents a mobile medical data access system, which can be used to exchange medical data between medical centres and a remote consultant. The system will be based on high speed internet communication over General Packet Radio Services (GPRS) as a communication link between the medical centre and the remote doctors, or health care personnel. The paper also describes the design requirements and initial tests that were carried out.
