Jysoo Lee, Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information, South Korea
In Korea, a national Grid project, named K*Grid, began in the year 2002. It is aimed at building a high performance research infrastructure that can dynamically collect, integrate, and share distributed and disparate resources, such as supercomputers, large scale storage, and advanced instruments. The K*Grid project has strong emphasis on application. By applying Grid technologies to real applications, one can evaluate the usefulness and shortcomings of the Grid technologies. This talk also introduces the current status of other related projects in Korea.
